| GMC Anantnag allegedly forces patients to visit private clinics | | |

Anantnag, Jan 1: While the LG Administration claims to have improved the health sector in Jammu and Kashmir, the Patients in South Kashmir's Anantnag district are being allegedly forced to visit private clinics.
According to reports Serology tests aren't being conducted at Government Medical College Anantnag since last month.
Besides, Serology tests, Troponin tests are also not being conducted in the hospital, they said.
A troponin test measures the level of troponin in the blood. Troponin is a type of protein found in the muscles of the heart while Serology tests detect the presence of antibodies in the blood from the body's adaptive immune response to an infection, like Covid-19.
Quoting attendants, a local news agency reported that they used to pay Rs 120 for 3 Serology tests in the hospital while the same tests cost them Rs 600 in the market. Similarly for Troponin test they have to spend Rs 700 in private as compared to Rs 380 they earlier used to pay in the hospital.
The attendants further said that instead of receiving a printed receipt for any test conducted in the hospital, now they receive hand-written receipts as some of the employees say that printer in the hospital has developed some fault last week.
The authorities inability to repair a printer exposes the tall claims of LG Administration with regard to Healthcare facilities being provided to the people here.
Principal GMC Anantnag Dr Syed Tariq Qureshi says that he will visit Government Medical College to ascertain the facts. “I will look into the matter,” he told said. |
