Punjabi book 'Jammu Kashmir Di Punjabi Kahani' released

JAMMU, Jan 3: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PSL), Jammu organized a book release function at KL Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy Complex, Canal Road, Jammu today to release Punjabi book titled 'Jammu Kashmir Di Punjabi Kahani' edited by Navdeep Kaur.
Dr Baljeet Kaur, HoD, Deptt of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest, whereas Khalid Hussain, Sahitya Akademi Awardee & Veteran Punjabi writer was the special guest on this occasion. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL presided over the function. SK Sharma, Retd IT Commissioner, Jammu also shared the dais.
Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, General Secretary, PLS, while welcoming the guests and the audience gave a brief of the activities being undertaken by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha during the past. He also elaborated on the importance of holding such kind of events during the hard times like Corona- 19 Pandemic.
In her address, Dr Baljeet Kaur appreciated Punjabi Lekhak Sabha for promoting and contributing a lot in the field of Punjabi literature in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and in the mainstream Punjabi literature as well. She added that the books like Jammu- Kashmir Di Kahani authored by Navdeep Kaur a young writer from the mainstream Punjabi literature is a healthy sign for the regional Punjabi literary world.
In his address, Khalid Hussain appreciated Navdeep Kaur for selecting Punjabi short stories of the Punjabi writers of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, Rajvir Singh, a scholar of Ph D at Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu & Assistant Editor of Aabru (Punjabi) presented a paper on the released book.
Ajit Singh Mastana, renowned writer from Kashmir, Ravinder Singh, former Director, JKBOSE, SK Sharma and Navdeep Kaur, the author of the book, also expressed their views during the programme.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi while Charan Singh extended vote of thanks.
