Sat Sharma inaugurates New Year Million Cup

JAMMU, Jan 3: To boost the sports activities amongst the youth across Jammu, former minister and ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) inaugurated 'New Year Million Cup' organized in the memory of General Bipin Rawat which is being played at Country Ground, Gharota, Jammu. The tournament consists of three match series between Jammu Strikers CC and YK Sports Club Thathri which started today and will culminate on January 5. The first match was won by Jammu Strikers CC.
YK Sports Club won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first innings, Jammu Strikers CC scored 192 (All Out) in 34.3 overs. In the second innings YK Sports Club scored 146 runs (All Out) in 32.3 overs. Man of the Match was given to Romit Singh from JSCC who scalped 4 wickets. Bhanu from JSCC scored 83 runs and Vansh Kadyal scored 37 runs. From YKSC Omar Khan scored 45 runs and Aqib khan 25 runs. Omar Khan also took 3 wickets and Aqib Khan and Shaqib took 2 wickets each
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it is indeed a great initiative which has been taken by the youngsters of organizing a cricket tournament which will definitely indulge more and more youth with them and it is a positive sign that youth today is progressing towards keeping its mind and body fit by taking part in such activities. He also gave a message to youth to 'Stay Away From Drugs' and enjoy sports and games. BJP Kissan Morcha leader Sunil Dutt (Raka) was also present on the occasion.
