JAMMU, Jan 3: Special Covid Vaccination drive for 15 -18 age group today took off across Jammu Division with elaborate arrangements made by District Administrations to inoculate the children against the Corona virus with two doses in a time bound manner.
The school going children will be inoculated in their own institutions, while out of the school children will be vaccinated at the nearest school.
Doda: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vikas Sharma launched the vaccination drive at Government Girls Higher Secondary School where the students were given the first jab of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The DC informed that around 27000 age appropriate children will be vaccinated and in the first phase 61 vaccination sites have been established in the schools keeping in view the convenience of the beneficiaries.
He also said the beneficiary can also visit any other site if convenient along with the Adhaar card for timely registration and inoculation. He also informed that 98% of the population in the age group of above 18 years have been inoculated in the district.
Chief Medical Officer, DEPO, Principal Govt Girls Hr Sec School, besides other staff members of health and education department were also present.
RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal launched the special vaccination drive here at Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School
Principal GMGHSS Rajouri, Abul Raof Dar; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Dy CMO, Dr Anees Altaf Nabi besides staff members of the GGMHSS Rajouri and students were present during the event.
The DC said that vaccination is a simple, safe and effective way to protect against COVID19 before coming into contact with the virus as it strengthens the body’s immune system.
Informing about the type of vaccine to be used for the inoculation of the targeted age bracket, he said that only Bharat Biotech’ indigenously-made shot ‘Covaxin’ will be used for vaccinating the 15-18 age group.
“As many as 43260 children of the district in the said age group are to be covered under the vaccination drive in six days and 255 vaccination centres have been set up in different blocks of the district”, he added.
Kathua: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav kick started Special Vaccination Drive for 15-18 yr age group here at Government Higher Secondary School.
The DC said that a well knit plan has been devised to cover around 43,000 age appropriate children in the district for which a special vaccination drive has been launched from today. He informed that 37 Special Vaccination Centers have been established in the district to undertake the inoculation drive for adolescents.
The DC said the seven day window of vaccination for 15-18 yrs is a special initiative taken by the Government of India to ensure that vaccination of adolescents can be done in the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, the young students came in large numbers to their educational institutions where makeshift vaccination centers have been set up for inoculation purposes.
Samba: District Administration Samba kick started the first phase of vaccination drive for children of 15-18 year age group across the district by establishing vaccination centres in the schools.
District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma visited Ramgarh block and reviewed the vaccination drive.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, inaugurated the vaccination drive at Government High Secondary School Samba (BOYS). She said 21868 children in 15-18 age group are to be covered during the ongoing vaccination campaign. The DC said after achieving 100% double vaccination dose of above 18 years, the Frontline worker and health care givers have started the vaccination of children.
In the first phase, 13 schools including govt & private have been identified for vaccination of children.
The Chief Medical Officer informed that a total 2016 children were given first dose on the first day and no Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) were reported from anywhere.
Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam launched Covid special vaccination drive here at Government Higher Secondary School.
The DC Ramban informed that all age appropriate children are being vaccinated in their respective schools from today across Ramban District. Total 102 vaccination centres have been established in four medical blocks of the district , which includes 37 in Batote, 13 in Ukhral, 28 in Banihal and 24 in Gool to vaccinate 19268 children in the 15-18 year age group, he added.
The DC informed that the 2nd vaccination dose will be administered to the children after 28 days of the first dose. The DC said that all the BMOs have already been designated Nodal Officers for the purpose for their respective zones and all the vaccination centres have been connected with nearest referral centres to provide them health facilities, if required.
He said that the Health and Education Department has made all necessary arrangements to administer the first dose of vaccination to targeted children within a week’s time.
Kishtwar: District Administration Kishtwar launched the newly rolled out vaccination drive for 15-17 yrs age bracket.
Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal in presence of CMO Dr. RS Manhas, District Immunisation Officer inaugurated the vaccination drive here from Govt Hr. Sec. Secondary School (Boys and Girls).
Principal, teaching staff and the eligible students besides health functionaries remained present on the occasion.
Scores of students were vaccinated by the medical staff at the designated vaccination points established by District administration.
Earlier, to review the Covid containment measures in the district, the Additional District Development Commissioner chaired a meeting of the concerned Officer here at conference Hall DC office Complex.
All the concerned were directed to re-activate their respective Covid War Rooms to tackle variants of Concern/Variants of Interest (VoC/Vol) including B.1.1.529 (Omicron) at tehsil level.
All BDOs were asked to gear up to re-activate the COVID care centres established at Panchayat level and ensure adequate logistics and medicines.
The Chief Medical Officer and Block Medical Officers concerned were asked to ensure to take all steps necessary to achieve the overall objective of reducing Covid-19 incidence level by implementing Trace, Test, Track, Treatment protocol .
It was given out in the meeting that Vaccination shall be mandatory for employees working in different offices in the District and for the public entering into Shops, Restaurants, Public Transport, Parks and other public spaces.
Representatives of transport, religious organisations and Beopar Mandal were asked to sensitise the stakeholders to adhere to the COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma,ACP Zakir Hussain , CMO Kishtwar Dr R S Manhas, District Immunisation Officer kishtwar Dr Chander , all BDOs besides representatives of religious organisations and Beopar mandal remained present in the meeting.
POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet launched the mega vaccination drive for 15- 17 years age group of children at the District Hospital.
The vaccination drive was launched in presence of Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Dr.G.A Malik, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mushtaq Hussqin, Dr. Rahul besides staff members of district Hospital Poonch.
The Covid-19 vaccine was administered to the childrens between the age group of 15-17 years.
It was informed that as many as 105 vaccination centres have been established in the district where Covid-19 vaccination will be administered to 672 children.
In his address, the DC expressed satisfaction regarding the arrangements and said that the vaccination drive launched today will be completed on January 10.
Meanwhile, the vaccination drive was also launched across the district in presence of respective district heads at identified vaccination centers. |
