| Councillor Basson demands improved water supply in Bahu Fort area | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18: JMC Councillor Sham Lal Basson said that the situation of erratic water supply has not improved in Bahu Fort area despite bringing the issue before the concerned authorities on numerous occasions.
Addressing a press conference here today, JMC Councillor Basson said that scarcity of drinking water, supply of polluted water, issue of old and damaged pipes and supply of water on alternate days were some of the points which were put forth before the authorities but they have failed to address these problems.
He said that we approached from JE to Commissioner Secretary PHE (Jal Shakti) Department, the then Chief Secretary, advisors to then Governor and on 16th July 2021 submitted a memorandum of demands to the LG of JKUT especially for supply of drinking water on daily basis. But nothing has been done so far in this regard.
Basson hoped that LG will personally intervene for replacement of old pipes and supply of water on daily basis and justice will be delivered to the people of Bahu Fort. |
