Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Residents of Kausar Colony, Noorbagh today lodged a strong protest against the union territory administration for its alleged failure in providing basic amenities to the people living in the colony.
The residents while giving vent to their anger said that over the years although many of the politicians and officials from the government visited them but no action whatsoever has been taken on the ground. They said that they have been at the receiving end with no facility being provided to them.
“There is no drainage system in our colony and as such all the filth enters our houses. Even the human excreta enter our houses and there is foul smell all around. Although, we reached out to the people at helm with our problems but nobody solve the matter. The roads of our colony are in dilapidated condition and same is the case with the power supply,” said the residents.
The residents urged the LG administration to take immediate measures so that they live as ‘real’ citizens of the Srinagar city. They said that although the colony is located just few kilometers away from the city centre still then they are living as ‘pitiable’ citizens.
