ICICI Foundation conducts organic based plantation drive at Ransoo village

Reasi, Jan 28: Organic based plantation drive program was organized by ICICI Foundation today where more than 600 plants includes (Pomegranate, Guava, Aonla, Lemon and Litchi) etc., were planted at Govt Higher Secondary School, Ransoo. During the programme Kewal Krishan Kumar DDC Ransoo, Birendra Kumar Officer (CRPF), Sh. Kamal Singh SHO, Sh. Balder Raj Naib Tahsildar and Sarpanch of village, were participated in the program.
In the occasion Development Officer ICICI Foundation Dr. Thanlass Norboo welcomed the guest and briefed about importance of “Organic Farming Plantation” an organic exercise completely with no chemical fertilizer/pesticides which not only protect the environment also improve the soil health and it is an urgent need to promote the organic farming practice.
He also stressed that students must be connected with sapling plantation and awareness programme which are key factors to encourage citizens to protect environment by planting more and more trees to mitigate the climate change & eco-friendly and sustainable production for farming community. Kewal Krishan Kumar DDC, Ransoo encouraged students to plant more trees and take care of their plantations thereafter.
Birendra Kumar, Officer (CRPF) said that every day should be treated as Van Mahotsav and plants should be grown to keep the environment green, clean, safe and healthy. All the guest and students were actively participated in plantation programme.
Others who planted trees included Tara Chand Saini Vice Principal (GHSS Ransoo), Staff and more than 20 students and Sh. Surinder Singh Community Facilator (CF), ICICI Foundation were also participated in the programme.
In the occasion Tara Chand Saini Vice Principal, Govt Higher Secondary School, Ransoo Said excessive use of chemical, pesticides lead to Deteriote soil & human health, water bodies, environment and also expressed his thanks to ICICI Foundation team.
At the end all the guest expressed thanks & appreciate to the initiative taken by ICICI Foundation in their area.
Programme was ended up with vote of thanks delivered by Surinder Singh, Community Facilitator (CF) ICICI Foundation.
