What’s stopping LG Admin from opening revenue records of Ghair Mumkin Khad land: Tony
Equates BJP with East India company; alleges it’s out to sell everything

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 28: Political leader Taranjit Singh Tony has asked the Lieutenant Governor led administration what’s stopping it from opening revenue records of Ghair Mumkin Khad land and why is it hell bent upon disempowering the farmers by allowing conversion of agricultural land for industrial purposes.
Talking to Early times Tony said that huge tracts of state land are available in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and same can be used for industrial purpose. He said that under a ‘conspiracy’ the people of Jammu region are being deprived of the agricultural land. “There are thousands of kanals of land which has been recorded as Ghair Mumkin Khad in the Revenue records notwithstanding its actual nature being different from water basin and in many cases a developed colony. What’s stopping the LG administration from opening the revenue records of Ghair Mumkin Khad?” he asked.
He blamed the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) of sabotaging the interests of people of Jammu by facilitating the conversion of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes and industrial purposes.
Tony equated BJP with East India Company and said the party wants to disempower the people of Jammu region by snatching the agricultural land from them. He said that not much agriculture land is available and facilitating the conversion of same for non-agricultural activities would spell doom for the people of the Jammu region.
“Had the government been sincere it could have easily allowed the conversion of the barren land for industrial purposes rather than allowing conversion of agricultural land,” Tony said.
Tony asked the people of Jammu region to get united and said that they should defeat the nefarious designs of BJP. He said that BJP is fooling the people of Jammu region by claiming that next CM of Jammu & Kashmir would be from. He said that same is possible only when Jammu is a separate state.
