2nd dose of Covaxin vaccination begins at Block Kandi in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Feb 1: In line with this motto under the directions of District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal and Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehmam, Director Health Services Jammu, the campaign for a second dose of Covaxin has commenced in Health Block Kandi. Earlier health teams had successfully provided the first dose to all the eligible population in the 15-18 years age group. Now after the recommended gap of 28 days, the campaign for 2nd dose has begun.
The vaccination drive was directly supervised by Dr Shamim-Un-Nisa, Chief Medical Officer Rajouri
The first camp was organized at Higher Secondary School Kandi which was personally supervised by Block Medical Officer Kandi Dr Iqbal Malik and Principal HSS Budhal Sh Mohd Shabir.
This drive has also begun in other parts of the Block such as Jamola, Peeri, Budhal etc.
Great enthusiasm was seen among students for getting their second dose.
JNV Model School Kotranka is closed due to winter vacations but one student of JNV Aehtsham Fatima when got to know about this camp she came along with her friends to get her second dose in HSS Kandi. She said, "I am very happy to get my second dose. Now I am fully vaccinated and I feel proud to be a part of this fight against COVID."
Another student said," This is the only way to defeat COVID. I request all my fellows to get fully vaccinated so that our schools may reopen normally and completely."
Mohd Ayoub Lone Community Health Officer thanked the staff for cooperation and also appreciated students for their participation. He said, "Students are the future of our nation. Looking at their enthusiasm and support in this fight, I can say that the end of COVID is near. Together we will succeed."
