In a statement issued to media here today, the National Conference leader said that the people are facing huge hardships due to this project continuing to be incomplete even after two decades of commencement of the work. He said that his father late Rashpal Singh, former MLA had initiated this road project in 2007 but after having lost in the Assembly election this road could not be got completed by him.
Thakur Yashu Vardhan Singh accused the previous BJP Govt in J&K of having miserably failed to address the issues of the people of Khawas area. He said that people here are suffering due to the wrong policies of the government besides resorting to blatant discrimination in executing development works in the area. Divulging details about the aforesaid road project, he said that the after due tendering process this road project was allotted for execution in 2017 to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 55 crore within a stipulated time limit of three years. However, despite this the road work was not completed due to casual approach of the authorities sitting at the helm of affairs. He announced that he has decided to take up this challenge to complete this road project by taking up the matter with the Concerned Authorities.
Meanwhile, Thakur Yashu Vardhan extended full support to 'Rajouri Chalo Andolan' call given by the people of Khawas area for 2nd Feb.
