Rajouri, Feb 3 : A golden jubilee has completed this when the works on Khwas-Kotranka begun in 1972 but the project yet to see day light.
The local leaders told early Times that work the was started in 1972 and not completed till date.
“Koteranka to Khawas, 30 km road stretch, Khawas to Moghla 20km road, but the residents of this area still awaiting for the development of their areas”, the local Panches and Sarpanches said.
“Till date the leaders from kalakote, Kotranka and Darhal have taken this issue non seriously”, they said.
“Many peoples died due to incomplete of project. A big agitation and Rajouri chalo andolan was started by locals, but after the assurance of DC Rajouri this agitation postponed for next 15 days”, they said.
DC Rajouri has assured the people of Khawas and Moghla that within next 15 days, work of road and bridge will start.
However, the locals said due to incompetence of local leaders and the officers road project has faced discrimination. “Only khawas is the area in our UT where 50 years completed but works was not completed, they locals have regreted yesterday while addressing the media at Rajouri. Briefing the media persons, Advocate Gurdev Thakur and sarpanches, and prominent of the area have appealed to locals of khawas and moghla that if after 15 days the administration fails to fulfill its words, they get ready for a mass agitation. They added that even in the era of communication revolution they are yet struggling for basic amenities, urged GOI to issue horses and carts on subsidy if can’t address the basic concern.
