Online art workshop concludes at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: For improving creativity among the students, a three-day long online art workshop for imparting training to the students of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur today concluded through virtual mode.
The workshop was organized by Dean Students’ Welfare in collaboration with Cultural Committee GCW, Udhampur.
The whole workshop was sponsored by Pidilite Industries Ltd (Fevicryl). Fevicry certified professional and an artist of National repute Deepa Soni was the resource person for the said event.
Principal of the college Prof. Minu Mahajan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. Minu Mahajan appreciated the event and thanked the sponsorers for organizing such talent boosting programs for students.
She said that such creative workshops were a good platform for the students to encourage their talent and grow as creative individuals.
Resource person Deepa Soni imparted the training among the students on different themes.
On 1st day the theme was fabric painting in which students were taught about fabric colours, types of strokes and the method of drawing basic flowers on different fabrics.
2nd day’s theme dealt with recycling of discarded boards, bottles etc by using Moulditclay and creating beautiful art pieces. 3rd day’s theme was canvas painting in which students were taught about basic modes of canvas painting.
Earlier, the Coordinator Dean Students Welfare, Prof Sumita Rao gave a brief overview of the activities being done during the workshop among the students.
She said that the basic objective of the workshop is to nurture the creative abilities of the younger generation as well as improve their moral and ethical values.
The whole program was coordinated by Prof. Sumita Rao, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Seema Sharma Convener Cultural Committee, Pedilite Company employees Sandeep Pragati and Surinder.
