2/14/2022 10:38:53 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 14: The Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded complete restoration of statehood with special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing media persons at the Press Enclave here today, the J&K Unit President Manish Sahni said that special status should be accorded to protect the cultural, social and economic security of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the special status should ensure reservation in jobs and educational institutions for the local youth of J&K.
Sahni said that the promises made to the people of J&K on August 5, 2019 have remained unfulfilled till date and the waiting period for the restoration of democracy and statehood is getting longer. The claim of development and employment is also proving to be a mere Jumla, he said. With each passing day the trust reposed by the people in the government is getting eroded as people are unable to find any progress in terms of employment, development, restoration of peace, better education and health facilities, etc he asserted.
He accused the BJP of misleading the public on all the significant issues.
Sahni said that the people of the state were battling terrorism and nefarious activities of Pakistan for the last thirty years. The abrogation of Article 370 and the havoc of the Corona pandemic have made the economic condition of the people of the state miserable in the last three years. Unemployment and recession are at peak in Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant direct financial help and special relief package to J&K besides early restoration of democratic process and restoration of statehood status with special status to J&K. On this occasion president mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber, Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, president Kamghar wing Raj Singh, Media Asviser Deepak Sharma, President Mehila suraksha Prakost Preeti Joshi, Mangu Ram, Sumeet Abrol were present.
