| Increase our remuneration: PhD scholars | | |

SRINAGAR, Feb 14: The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) scholars working on academic arrangement in colleges and universities in the Kashmir valley today carried out a protest demonstration here in support of their demands and urged the LG Manoj Sinha to take personal interest in their matter.
The PhD scholars said that although they are paid Rs. 28,000 per month but since lot of time gets wasted their monthly remuneration does not cross Rs. 18,600. The scholars demanded that monthly remuneration should be increased and that their designation should be re-designed as Assistant Professors since they are PhD holders and teach in the universities.
The PhD scholars said that the Jammu & Kashmir administration should come out with a comprehensive job policy so that future of highly educated youth is secured. They said that some of them have crossed or are on verge of attaining the higher age limit set out by government for the government jobs. |
