NEW DELHI, Feb 14: Fast bowler Deepak Chahar (Deepak Chahar) Didn't want much bucks for himself in IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Chahar said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) During the auction of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had spent Rs 13 crore on him, so he really wanted the bidding to stop. This all-rounder believes that due to high bidding on him, there could have been a hindrance in preparing a strong team.
CSK re-added Chahar to his team for Rs 14 crore. He has become the highest selling Indian bowler in the IPL auction. Chahar said that he cannot think of being a part of any other team other than Chennai. Chahar said, "I wanted to play for CSK because I did not even imagine playing in any jersey other than the yellow jersey (Chennai outfit)."
"At one point I felt it (bid amount) was too high. Being a CSK player, I also wanted us to prepare a good team. So after they had spent Rs 13 crore, I really wanted the bidding to stop so that I can get into the CSK camp as soon as possible and after that we can buy some other players with the remaining money. Chahar, a member of the limited overs team of India, said that in 2018 he was told by franchise owner N Srinivasan that 'you will always play in the yellow jersey'. After this, he never talked to the team management or captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni about retaining him.
Chahar said, "I never spoke to Mahi bhai (Dhoni) or the CSK management about this." He said, "I met Srinivasan sir in 2018 and he said that you will always play in the yellow jersey. I believed his words and never talked about retaining after that. I knew that CSK would bid for me. He said, "We (Indian T20 team) were traveling from Ahmedabad to Kolkata and the whole team was watching the auction. Everyone was saying how much has happened and similar things were going on." The 29-year-old Chahar will play for the Super Kings for the fifth consecutive season. The franchise first bought him in 2018 for Rs 80 lakh.
