Mayor kick starts work of community hall in Muthi area

JAMMU, Mar 9: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development and more civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta along with former Rajya Sabha MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas today kick started the construction work of a community hall at Mohalla Amit Nagar Muthi of Ward No 67.
Hardeep Singh Mangotia Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee JMC, Raj Kumar Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee JMC, Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice Committee, Suraj Parkash Padha Councillor of Ward No 67, Karan Singh lenior BJP Leader, Kuldeep Singh Chib Councillor of Ward No 63, Mohinder Kumar Bhagat Councillor of Ward No 61, Suneet Kumar Raina Councillor of Ward No 9 and Dwarka Nath Baru prominent social worker were present on the occasion.
Ashwani Kumar Executive Engineer, Darshan Kumar Modi Asst. Executive Engineer and Chander Parkash Junior Engineer along with his supervisory staff of works Division -III JMC besides concerned contractor also remained present there on the occasion.
Addressing to media persons, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals of Muthi as there is no proper accommodation in the nearby locality where people especially belonging to poor and downtrodden families who are unable to spend huge expenses on the marriages of their children and other related functions on the Banquet halls .
He further said that Dwarka Nath Baru, who resides in the locality and has voluntarily donated approx three Kanals of land for this noble cause and set an example for others to follow. He added that the local Councillor then out of his allotted funds has contributed and after his sincere efforts, this much needed construction work of community hall has last been started today with an allotted amount of Rs 56 lakh only.
