Forget promise of 50,000 Govt jobs, Raj Bhawan to offer ‘chance’ of skilled labor!
3/10/2022 12:06:16 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 9: Even as the Raj Bhawan had promised 50,000 new government jobs for the educated unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the assurance has been seemingly reduced to an offer of “skilled labor job” that too not with surety but as a “matter of chance.”
While hundreds of thousands of youth in Jammu and Kashmir are jobless, the J&K government has started celebrating its scheme Be Rozgar Se Swarozgar Scheme as a mega festival.
The Early Times in an analysis of the mega festival could infer that it would be skilled labor offer for the educated unemployed youth is more of hype to hold festival than hope.
“In order to provide adequate Job opportunities to the youth of J&K and make them self dependent, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has started ‘Be Rozgar Se Swarozgar Scheme’.
The scheme says that it will give a jobless youth “a chance” to earn livelihood. process.
“It will ensure that a local youth will get a chance to earn livelihood,” says the official handout released for the celebrations.
The official handout has used the term “chance” twice with regard to the employment opportunity.
“The objective of the 10 point campaign is to achieve quantifiable results within specific timelines, in an effort to touch the lives of ordinary citizens at the grassroots level Under ‘Be Rozgar Se Swarozgar Scheme’ scheme, the youth of J&K will get a chance to get employment,” said the official handout.
A senior official told the Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the government using the term “chance” means the Raj Bhawan was itself not sure of benefits of the scheme.
“The government handout doesn’t say that the scheme will give livelihood but that it will be chance and this is enough to convey the level of uncertainty of the scheme for which the government has called for mega celebrations,” said the official.
“To create awareness among the youth about ‘Be Rozgar Se Swarozgar’ Scheme, the government started “Yogyata se Rozgaar Mahotsav”, the official handout had said.
In August 2019, the government had said that 50,000 government jobs would be given to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir within three months.
The promise was never fulfilled and now the Raj Bhawan has kickstarted new celebrations of sorts.
