Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 15: Despite the passage of over three weeks now, the enquiry committee tasked to probe irregularities at CMO Office Kulgam, hasn’t yet submitted the report.
As per details, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir ordered a probe into alleged irregularities at CMO Office Kulgam on 21st of February after receiving detailed complaints against chief medical officer Kulgam and others allegedly involved in irregularities.
A four member committee was constituted to probe the irregularities and asked to submit detailed report; however the committee hasn’t yet submitted the report. According to official sources, the employees of the health department posted in Kulgam and especially Section Officer CMO Kulgam have turned whistleblowers and alerted the department about the wrongdoings taking place in CMO Office Kulgam.
They claimed that the Chief Medical Officer was enjoying the patronage of the top health department.
In a letter, a copy of which lies with Early Times, the Section Officer informed Director Health Services Kashmir that the GNM School Kulgam wasn’t functioning neither any COVID-19 care center was running from the school.
He also informed health authorities that Chief Medical Officer Kulgam was tempering the dispatch register and issuing multiple communications on single dispatch number and date.
Section Officer in this alleged that Chief Medical Officer Kulgam was dumping important files whenever they are sent to him for approval or necessary action.
Sources said that the authorities also embezzled COVID-19 care funds during 2020-21.
Repeated attempts to contact the Chief Medical Officer failed as his phone remained out of reach.
