Surankote: 2 months on, ZEO absent, locals demand inquiry

Poonch, Mar 16: All is not well in the office of Zonal Education Officer Surankote in Poonch district and ZEO is absent from office for more than two months and teachers, locals are suffering a lot.
Zonal Education Officer is allegedly voilating all norms of the department and have attached some blue eyed teachers as per their their own choices and have made huge fraud in appointment of EVs in various Dhoks in Surankote area.
Many genuine EVs who were working as seasonal teachers in many institutions have been dropped whereas some blue eyed EVs with some personal interest have been appointed in these institutions, a report said.
Sarpanch Haji Mohd Akram of Dodi Panchayat has informed to Early Times that there are many seasonal institutions in Dhoks including Kuli, Galindan wletc where two EVs have been appointed for thirteen students where in another dhok only one female EV is working in an institution having more than seventy students. Many locals from Seri Chouhana and Seri Khawaja have informed that ZEO Surankote has illegally attached a teacher namely Pankaj Sharma from GMS Seri Khawaja in another school, and attached another to ZEO office for his personal interest.
According to an order issued from his office vide number ZEOS/1898-1901 on 5th of March 2022 in which he has attached Shoket Hussain Shah, Abdul Majid Malik, Mohd Bashir and Abdul Hamid to other institutions which is also voilation of norms.
Locals from entire Surankote have said that, there are many schools in Surankote zone where there is huge shortage of staff and on the other hand ZEO has illegally attached as per their choice which is condemnable.
They said, when they visit to ZEO office for inquiry and Zonal Education Officer is looking absent from office for more than two months.
They have appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Director School Education Department Jammu to look into the matter and take necessary strict action after thorough investigation against said ZEO. Zonal Education Officer Surankote didn't receive our correspondent's call for his official comment.
