Early Times Report

Poonch, Mar 27: When an officer misused his powers to harass public it’s called Gundagardi or gundaraj in locals. A report has came in the notice that a Niab Tehsildar in district Poonch allegedly misused his powers and entered Middle School Bhainch, forcibly occupied a room of the school, locked it and on arguments used unparliamentary language with female head of the institution. According to students of the school and staff member, when school authorities questioned his wrong attitude, he said he will use the room for Patwar Khanna whereas no formal order was issued by any officer of Revenue department for converting a school room as Patwar khana.
Locals of the areas also asked that “is this not Gundagardi?”. School staff said, there are 162 students enrolled in this school and there is shortage of the infrastructure in school. Students of the school have said that when they were in classes, an office came and started to throw the desks of the school out from a room, on questioning from our teachers he said that he will convert this room into Patwar Khanna, when he was asked about any order, his attitude was at peak he refused by saying “he’ll show order to Deputy Commissioner not to any other”.
When the matter was put to higher authorities by Zonal Education Officer and school staff, a team of officials was sent to investigate the matter which came and framed a detailed report and forward it to deputy commissioner Poonch for further inquiry. Remember, there are many Niab Tehsildars who are using the plate of Executive Magistrate in their private vehicles and harasses common masses in large. People have appealed to deputy commissioner Poonch to order them to remove such name plates, DySP traffic in this regard has assured that no one can use this plate on his private vehicles.
