JAMMU, Mar 31: Six passengers were killed and eight injured when their vehicle rolled down a deep gorge on Thursday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"A passenger cab plunged 300-ft deep into a gorge at Tarawali, Bafliaz when the occupants were returning home after attending a wedding at Murah," police said. Police said that the driver lost control and the car fell killing six on the spot, besides three of eight remain critically injured. Locals along with police and army rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. They shifted the injured to the hospital. The deceased were identified as Gulam Rabani, 55, Mohd Fazal, 60, Mushtaq Ahmed, 63, Fazal Ahmed, 62, Gulam Galani, 55 and Mohd Akbir, 62. |
