Doda police work out theft case of vehicles: stolen property recovered, 3 arrested

DODA, Apr 3: Police said that on a written complaint lodged by Gh Hussain Wani R/O Gulwar Tendla Tehsil Chilly , a case FIR No. 18/2022, U/S 379/IPC was registered at Police Station Gandoh to the effect that some unknown thieves had stolen the automobile parts of vehicle of the complainant. It was further mentioned in the complaint that the automobile parts of another vehicle belonging to Mohd Saleem s/o Bashir Ahmed R/O Pulaie Tehsil Chilly had also been stolen.
Soon after the registration of the case a Police team led by SHO Police Station Gandoh Inspr Vikram Singh swung into action and after getting some clues/lead about the theft , rounded up one suspect namely Bilal Ahmed S/O Ishaq Wani R/O Bagli Gandoh. During questioning the suspect admitted that he had stolen the vehicle parts and transported them in his vehicle to Jammu and sold to one Ashwini Kumar S/O Bhushan Kumar R/O Tawi Mohalla Bikram Chowk Jammu.
On this information immediately a Police Party of PS Gandoh led by PSI Parvez Ahmed rushed to Jammu and rounded up Ashwini Kumar with the assistance of Jammu Police who admitted to the crime and disclosed that they used to dismantle the costly parts of vehicles and sell them in Delhi Automobile market at hefty price.
On his disclosure the stolen vehicles' parts worth approx. Rs 6 lakhs were recovered by the police from Gujjar Nagar area of Jammu. One more person namely Tayyab Khan S/O Khalil-ur-Rehman R/O Aligarh UP involved in the theft has also been arrested. An EECO Maruti vehicle bearing registration number JK06A-3608 used for the transportation of stolen property was also seized by Police.
All these arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision Sh. Shazad Kabir Matto SDPO Gandoh, Aftab Mir ASP Bhaderwah and over all Supervision of SSP Doda.
The locals of the area have highly appreciated the efforts of the police in arresting the thieves besides recovering the property.
