Present regime turning J&K into Uttar Pradesh: Gagan Baghat
>UP residents getting all privileges, locals being ignored
4/5/2022 11:16:36 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 5: National Conference spokesman, Gagan Baghat, has alleged that the present J&K regime is providing special privileges to the residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Talking to a local news channel, Baghat said, “After Manoj Sinha has taken over the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, UP residents are getting priority everywhere. Despite J&K having a galaxy of literate people, the administration has selected a Vice-Chancellor from UP to head Jammu University.”
He said, “The J&K is fast turning into another Uttar Pradesh. Rooms are being reserved for them in bhawans and are being provided with the helicopter services.”
Bhagat said, “The opposition is being suppressed and no space is being provided to us to carry on with our activities. Not only us, the local BJP leaders too are not being heard. Bureaucrats don’t pick up their calls, nor do they respond to
> Mainstream media ignoring opposition; babus don’t even listen to local BJP leaders
their requests.”
He said that the unemployment rate is increasing with each passing day. “The government should issue a whitepaper to inform the people what roadmap it has got for addressing the unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir,” Bhagat added.
He said that the people of J&K need to wake up and see for themselves, how they are being disempowered. “Educated people are being sidelined and outsiders are being elevated. At present no one from J&K is holding any top position in any of the offices or the seats of power,” Bhagat said. “National Conference has decided to launch a vigorous campaign to make people aware about how their rights are being snatched,” he added.
Bhagat said that the mainstream is completely ignoring the opposition parties and is not providing any space to them. “We are dependent on you tubers and freelance journalists to put across our point.”
