| GDC Chenani celebrates World Earth Day | | |  Early Times Report
CHENANI, Apr 22: Government Degree College (GDC) Chenani under the auspices of its NSS Unit PRAYATNA and AKAM organized a special plantation drive on the eve of the "World Earth Day". The event was organized to spread awareness among the students and the community at large about the significance of plants as a vital resource. In the event nearly 60 students of the college participated by bringing the variety of plants including herbs, shrubs, trees, climbers and creepers The students displayed their skill in placing and adjusting the indoor plants and planting the tree saplings within the college premises despite the fact that there is an acute constraint of space and open soil outside the college premises. Near about 50 potted plants with pots decorated by the students were placed in the college corridor and few trees were planted within and around the college area. The principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna appreciated the efforts of the students and staff and congratulated the team for such a unique way of beautifying the college. While emphasizing the significance of planting the trees she also advised the students to keep their efforts to plant more and more trees in their future endeavours to save the Mother Earth and the life on it.
