Early Times Report

Poonch, May 4: Staff appointed at SDH Mandi remain absent from their duty, all is not well in SDH Mandi. Gynaecologist, child especialist remain absent from their duty. According to the report from Sub Divisional Hospital Mandi, all is not well there. Although the matter of SDH Mandi has been highlighted in media and director health Jammu has been informed and requested by general public for cognizance of the matter, but the careless director turned the public voice unheard. According to the sources, a lady gave birth to her child in front of the hospital, the survivers/attendemts of the lady have registered a protest against hospital administration and said, "when they reached the hospital with pregnant lady, the hospital was found closed, they requested to a peon, who was present there to open the door of ward, but he refused to open the ward by saying 'bahar inton par baitho, andar jane ki ijazat nhi hai' meanwhile the lady gave birth to her child in lawn of the hospital". They raised the slogans and said, why staff deployed at SDH remain absent? Is this respect of ladies? Who is responsible for it? although BMO Mandi, CMO Poonch are also a lady, has they pain of this lady? is a question. Will they take any action?
Locals have allegedly said that when they tried to raised their voice through protest, Mandi police start to harass public, which mean Mandi police is also the guilty of such injustice. No doubt, the building of SDH Mandi is neat and clean, but it's not for public use, staff didn't allow patients to enter the neat and clean wards. Locals have appealed to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to visit to Mandi, Poonch and take strict action against Director Health Jammu, BMO Mandi and gynaecologist who always remain absent from duty. Deputy Commissioner Poonch in this regard has said that the inquiry has already been ordered into the matter.
