JAMMU, May 16: NC leader Dr Farooq Abdullah irrational bid to establish connection between movie 'The Kashmir Files' and the ghastly killing of Rahul Bhat in Valley shows that the former CM of J&K has lost his mind and there is no need to pay heed to his illogical statements.
This was said by senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta while addressing a press conference here today.
Kavinder said that The Kashmir Files and the horrendous act of terror are two totally different issues but to find the lost political space for his party, Farooq Abdullah is leaving no stone unturned and in run-up to this he don't even mind in giving absurd and illogical statements which have no relevance or connection with the grave situation which today the Kashmir Valley is confronting badly. He said that NC chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah's demand to ban the movie 'The Kashmir Files' is illogical.
It is pertinent to mention that NC chief has claimed that the movie is spreading hatred and that is the only reason behind such barbaric killings in Kashmir.
"It is completely irrational to put across such statements," he said adding that whatever Dr Farooq is doing has nothing to do with the situation in Kashmir rather it is an attempt to take political mileage out of the unfortunate incident that has shattered the hearts and minds of the nationalist people living in the country. He said that the way the Dr Farooq is trying to connect Kashmir violence with the aforesaid movie, it seems he is justifying the terror acts and in a way prompting the terror mongers to do more making 'The Kashmir Files' an alibi to this vicious cycle of violence.
Meanwhile, hitting out hard against the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti for her loathsome statements, Kavinder asked the people not to get mislead by such divisive sloganeering because the sole aim of such so-called political leaders is to get political advantage by dividing people in whatever way they can.
The senior BJP leader said that people can read history to know that before the invaders there were only Hindus in the sub-continent and now if the courts are giving verdicts after getting satisfied over the issues of ancient temples no one in the country should show arbitrariness in the matter as Indian judiciary is well known across the world for its unbiased stand. He said that people should remain cautious against such public representatives who want to misuse the public sentiment for their own vested interests.
