3 Forest employees among 4 arrested for attacking, damaging police vehicle

Kishtwar, May 16: Kishtwar police arrested four persons including three forest officials for attacking and damaging police vehicle on Saturday/Sunday mid night near Patimhala Palmar.
As per the details available with Early Times, police registered FIR 112/22 U/S 353, 332, 427, 341, 504, 506 IPC against Sagar Singh son of Radha Krishan (SFC employee) R/o Malhar Palmar, Noor Mohammad son Fateh Mohammad (Forest Guard) R/o Mattoo Bhata Palmar, Mohammad Aslam Son of Mohammad Akbar R/o Palmar & a Private person Suman Kishore son Sagar Singh for attacking and damaging the police vehicle beside making assault on the police party taking benefit of the darkness.
The sources told the Early Times that forest official and forest smugglers nexus was very active in the area during late night hours added that the police vehicle on duty was return from Patimhala to Kishtwar was intervened by the accused person fearing that police party might follows them added that in order to fear of police following them which was not the case since the police vehicle was returning as a part of routine- they tried to escape the police action with the convenience of some other senior officials tried to cook the fabricated story and after being caught spread the rumour about the use of police vehicle for transportation of timber- the rumour that later on found to be fabricated and concocted.
“What we’re they doing their— what is the job of private persons present along with the team of forest officials is the matter of investigation” said the sources privy to the development added that more arrest are likely in coming days.
When contacted DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar said that he is not in a position to comment on the arrest of the forest officials added that he had yet to receive any communication from Kishtwar police about the arrested person.
It is pertinent to mention that Warwan and Marwah areas of Marwah Forest Division in Kishtwar District had reported several mass scale loot of forest and despite providing photographic and videographic evidences to the senior forest officials by the scribe, no punitive action has been initiated against the culprits involved in green felling of the trees, more several people had constructed their homes illegally on forest land under the close nose of the forest officials who seems to have turned blind eye towards the same.
