Congress Infighting: Azad loyalists not to reply to show-cause notices
6/5/2022 11:22:57 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 5: To snub dissidents within the party, Congress leadership has served show-cause notices to loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad for boycotting “Chintan Shivar” held at Patnitop.
The leaders, who owe their allegiance to Ghulam Nabi Azad, have decided not to give a reply to these notices. Rather they are ready to take confrontation with the party.
On the condition of anonymity, a loyalist of Azad told The Early Times that they were ready to take confrontation with the state well as central leadership. “Enough is enough now, we will not tolerate dictatorship in the party”, he said.
As per reports, loyalists of senior Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had boycotted the Pantitop conclave, were served show-cause notices.
A two-day “Chintan Shivar” was organised at Patnitop Hills in Udhampur district, which was chaired by the AICC leader and In-charge J&K Affairs Rajni Patil.
The Azad loyalists have been served show-cause notices for skipping the event.
Sources said that two separate notices were served to former MLAs for attending a private party in Srinagar instead of the Congress’s official programme in Patnitop.
They said that the Congress leaders have been told to clear their stand in two weeks otherwise they have to face a disciplinary action.
Notably, in November last year, 24 leaders including former ministers, former legislators, and office bearers from the “group” of veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad revolted against the PCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir and resigned from their organizational posts.
