Srinagar, June 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police in a joint operation with security forces claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant of banned Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Bandipora on Wednesday.
Police in a statement said acting on specific information, Bandipora police along with 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 3rd Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested one hybrid terrorist of banned LeT outfit" at a naka point established at Papchan Bandipora.
The accused has been identified as Mehboob-ul-Inam alias Farhaan son of Inam-ul-Haq Shah a resident of Nadihal Bandipora. One Chinese Grenade he had kept under the seat of his Scooty.
On interrogation/questioning the arrested Hybrid LeT terrorist disclosed before Security forces that he is associated with LeT and on their directions has made a hideout inside his shop at Nadihal Market, where killed terrorists of the outfit Hyder alias Abu Muslim, Abu Ismail alias Faisal, Abu Hamza alias Okasha, Gulzar alias Faizan used to hide and stay, police said.
Police said he also confessed that they had kept Arms, ammunition and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials inside the hideout for which they were planning to recruit some local youths from North Kashmir especially from Bandipora District to strengthen the cadre base of LeT organization.
Police claimed that from the hideout arms and ammunition along with RDX & IED materials were seized including 3 AK Rifles 10 AK-47 Magazines, 380 Ak-47 live rounds, 3 Pouches, 2 YSMS Sets, 2 boxes of Detonators, Chargeable Pencil Cells 26, Chargeable Adopter 1, Sprayed Lubricant 2 Bottle, Matric Sheet 1, Nylon thread (Pakistan Made) 2, High Carbon Steel Balls 36 Boxes, wire set for IED (Grey Colour) 3, Wire set for IED (White Colour) 1, Wire set for IED (Red Colour) 1, IED Explosive (RDX) in centre Fruit Box 2 Kg, Dairy Milk Chocolate (Pakistani Made) 5, Bag (Quechua) 2 and 19 Daily use items.
A Case FIR has been registered and further investigation taken up, police said.
