6/29/2022 11:12:17 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 29: Kashmiri terrorists from outfits like Lashkar and Hizb are activating their “sleeper cells” along the frontiers of Jammu region, the intelligence agencies have learnt.
The sources in the establishment told the Early Times that there are credible inputs with the intelligence agencies that the terrorists who have been active in their native Kashmir are “conspiring for a spillover of their local cadres into the Jammu region areas falling on the side of Pakistan border through sleeper cells.”
Sources said the inputs available with the Jammu and Kashmir Police suggest that the establishment of “sleeper cells in Jammu region was being conspired on the instructions of their Pakistan handlers.”
A senior official told the Early Times on the condition of anonymity that the terror related incidents in the last few months in Jammu region including the blasts in Udhampur and Rajauri could be the handiwork of the “sleeper cells.”
The sourced said “the sleeper cells could be managing the task of transportation of arms and ammunition from the frontiers into Kashmir in particular, apart from providing logistic support for execution of the terror strikes.”
“There have been numerous incidents of arms dropping by drone and through tunnels by Pakistan into the Indian soil in Jammu region and at times such cache may have made its entry elsewhere including Kashmir due to the assistance of the sleeper cells,” said the official.
Sources said the matter was recently discussed at a high-level meeting in Jammu and that New Delhi has asked the JKP to take appropriate measures to neutralize such sinister designs.
It’s pertinent to mention that since the successful abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, the enemy country is frustrated by the support shown by the people of Jammu in particular, who had celebrated the end of “discriminatory era.”
When contacted a senior official told the Early Times that the security establishment was “fully prepared to foil of the nefarious designs of the establishment of sleeper cells in Jammu region and that things were much in control.”
