POWERGRID provides one color dopler ultrasound machine and X-ray machine to CMO, Budgam under CSR

JAMMU, July 1: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided one colour doppler ultrasound machine and 300 Ma x-Ray machine with high frequency generator to Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Kashmir for strengthening the medical infrastructure of the sub district hospital, Chattergam.
Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II handed over the two hi-end latest technology machines to Dr. Tehmeena Kousar, Dy. CMO, Health Department of Budgam district on 01.07.2022, in the presence of Shafat Ahmed Wani, Sr. General Manager (RE/ST/SLTS), POWERGRID, Arshad Hussain Khan, General Manager (Wagoora), Dr. Sami Ahmed, BMO, Chattergam and other senior officials of POWERGRID and Health department, Budgam, Kahmir. The cost of these two hi-end machines is around 27 lakhs.
This CSR effort of POWERGRID will augment the health infrastructure in Budgam district of Kashmir valley and will support the hospital located in Chattergam to provide medical services to nearby Villages. Since this hospitals is rural area of Budgam district, these latest technology Ultrasound and X-Ray machines will provide great comfort to the populace of these areas which otherwise have to visit hospitals in Srinagar city.
The authorities of the health department thanked POWERGRID for providing the two hi-end machines and requested POWERGRID to continue contributing to the health infrastructure development in Kashmir valley.
Under CSR activities, health sector is one of the thrust area of POWERGRID especially in the government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for well being of the general masses. During last three years, POWERGRID has taken up many CSR initiatives in Kahmir province amounting to more than Rs 4 crore.
POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED is a Maharatna Enterprise under Ministry of Power having its regional headquarters of Northern Region-II at Jammu. POWERGRID is engaged in inter-state bulk power transmission. POWERGRID has 172,557 ckm of transmission lines, 265 Sub-stations and more than 480,457 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability >99%. POWERGRID performance has been consistently Excellent by achieving very difficult measurable parameters which are set in MoU signed with Ministry of Power, Government of India.
POWERGRID, Northern Region -II with headquarter in Jammu, is having its Transmission System spread in the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UT of Chandigarh, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
