Early Times Report

Jammu, July 9: After the cancellation of the recruitment process for Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Police, demand for conducting a probe into Financial Account Assistant (FAA) results gained momentum.
As the credibility of the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) is under a cloud after the detection of fraud in Sub-Inspector written examinations, some candidates alleged bungling in FAA tests also.
On April 22, 2022, the JKSSB declared the result of the FAA written examination held on March 6, 2022. JKSSB issued notification for 972 posts of FAA in the Finance Department and written exams for the same posts were held on March 22. The OMR-based objective type written examination for the post of Accounts Assistant (Finance) on March 6, 2022 from 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm
The examinations were held in 722 centres across 19 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Around 2 lakh candidates applied for the above-mentioned positions, with approximately 1.36 lakh (70 percent) participating in the examination.
Since the declaration of the result, some candidates have alleged bungling in the exam. They pointed out that some candidates for a particular centre have secured unexpected marks.
Encouraged by steps taken by the government to cancel the SI exam, candidates who appeared in FAA tests have raised the demand of a probe into the allegation of fraud. They pointed out that the credibility of JKSSB is under the cloud after exposure of the scam in the SI exam.
