| Mehbooba Mufti reaching Jammu today, unlikely to meet any political person | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 12: After making an official statement of contesting elections as a constituent of the Peoples' Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is reaching Jammu on Wednesday for a two-day tour.
During her two-day stay at Jammu, Mehbooba Mufti will not meet with any leader of her part nor does she address any political gathering.
Sources said that during her stay at Jammu Mehbooba will meet with some non-political persons. "Although Mehbooba Mufti has informed the Jammu unit about her visit, she has made it clear that she will not meet any leader", sources said and added that the PDP president is on a personal visit to Jammu for two days.
Highly placed sources said that during her stay at Jammu, Mehbooba Mufti is likely to hold interaction with some intellectuals of Jammu. She will also take feedback from some non-political persons about the scope of the PAGD in Jammu province during the assembly elections in J&K.
Sources said that Mehbooba Mufti has already informed her party leaders that she is ready to sacrifice the interests of her party to ensure unity of opposition. She will leave almost all seats of Jammu province except a couple of constituencies from Poonch-Rajouri, for Congress and National Conference to defeat BJP. |
