Ajaz Jan rue over non-utilization of Capex, State Plan budget

Early times Report

POONCH, July 20: The National Conference today criticized the District Administration Poonch for non-utilization of Capex and State Plan Budget, showing seriousness of Government’s development claims in J&K.
In a statement issued here today, the Provincial President Youth National Conference (YNC) Jammu and former MLA, Ajaz Jan, while taking a dig at the development claims of the incumbent J&K and Central Governments, revealed that the District Administration Poonch was not able to utilize even 10 per cent of its Capex as well as State Plan budget since the beginning of financial year of 2022-23 allowing all the budget to get lapsed as there has been no provision to carry forward one financial year’s budget to another. He said the party has all along been saying that the projected development is only visible on newspapers but the ground realities are completely contrary to the government’s claims.
“Contrary to what is being publicized through print and electronic media by the J&K dispensation, the ground situation in context with the development in the rural and hilly belts is pathetic as people are craving for basic amenities,” he added.
The NC leader said that people are confronting development deficit but the government is busy in spreading false narrative of colossal development in far off belts of J&K, which is a white lie as on ground people are facing multiple problems with no solution in sight. He said that neglect of hilly terrains is visible on ground but the government is trumpeting development, development and development day and night.
Ajaz Jan criticized the government for not showing its serious concern towards the suffering of common masses. He said the people of entire Poonch district areas have been facing acute hardships due to the lack of basic amenities.
The senior NC leader stated that in absence of popular government, the general public has become so much restless that even a day is not passed when the Jammu region doesn't witness a protest or demonstration against the anti-people policies of the government. He said that only National Conference can bail out people from this misery as castles of development made by J&K Government in air are distant apart from reality.
