RDD Kishtwar lodges Police complaint against 8 contractors for failing to execute works

KISHTWAR, July 20: The Rural Development Department (RDD) in this district has lodged a complaint against eight contractors who were awarded various contracts for execution of 30 works in Block Inderwal through online bidding & tendering process for non completion of the works of public importance in stipulated time period.
As per the details available with Early Times, BDO Inderwal Tasleem Wani wrote a letter to SHO police station Chatroo requesting him for registration of an FIR against the contractors who despite repeated requests fail to execute the work of public importance in a time bound manner.
The complaint stated, “In reference to the subject cited above, it is submitted that in FY 2021-22, in response to several NITs -published by REW Kishtwar in respect of Block Inderwal, several contractors submitted their bids and works were allotted to them. But due to their careless approach and belligerence shown, the work has not been completed in time bound manner and those work were kept in SOS, as a chance to those default contractor for completion of work but again they failed to comply.”
It added that “Show Cause Notices were sent by the office of undersigned vide Letter No. BDOI/2022-23/355-358 dated 13-7-2022, BDO1/2022-23/359-362 dated 13-7-2022, BDOI/2022-23/363-366 dated 13-7-2022 beside notices and repeated reminder given by concerned Secretary Panchayat and by technical team time and again individually to every default contractor. The office of the undersigned received the detail of SOS works not executed by the default contractors from the Panchayat secretaries and J.E’s concerned on 19-7-2022”.
The contractors against whom the department has sought registration of an FIR include Ayaz Ahmed Malik, Manzoor Ahmed Wani, Ghulam Qadir Malik, Ghulam Nabi, Fareed Ahmed Bumal, Maqbool Hussain Wani, all residents of Tehsil Chatroo, Manzoor Ahmed resident of Tehsil Dadpath and Ashfaq Hussain resident of Tehsil Chili Pingal, District Doda. “As such it is requested to lodge a FIR against the aforementioned contractors” reads the complaint.
SHO Police Station Chatroo Sameer Ahmed Butt confirmed to Early Times that they have received a complaint from BDO Inderwal. “We have received a copy of the complaint from BDO Inderwal. We are analysing it and in the meantime the contractors named in the complaint has been summoned to the police station to explain their position” SHO Chatroo informed.
