Cong praises Defence Minister for his mature speech
7/25/2022 11:07:22 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 25: Sounds incredible but its true Congress heaped all praise on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for his mature speech during a function at Gulshan Ground Jammu on Sunday.
Speaking at a function organized by the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum (JKPF) to honour kin of martyrs, the Defence Minister avoided criticizing the first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru in dealing with Pakistan and China.
Pointing towards the illegal occupation of a large part of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan, the Defence Minister said, “Many people criticize Pandit Nehru. I belongs to a particular political party. But I will not criticize Pandit Nehru or any Indian Prime Minister. I cannot justify the policy an Indian Prime Minister but I will not raise doubt over his intention. Pandit Nehru’s policy may have been wrong in dealing with Pakistan and China, but his intention was not”, he said.
Spokesman of J&K Congress, Ravinder Sharma lauded Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for adding grace to the high office occupied by him, by not indulging in mudslinging on the first Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. “Surprisingly, it was a departure from the syllabus and subject of the BJP especially Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah but Rajnath Singh has shown his political maturity and sagacity in tune with the glorious traditions of Indian democracy, he added.
“Shri Singh, knows the immense contributions of Pt Nehru as an architect of modern India, especially his efforts and role in the accession and integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India but out of political compulsions, BJP leaders have been making him a target of vilification campaign, which is most unfortunate”, he said in a statement.
