BLSKS mounts one week campaign on breast feeding

JAMMU, Aug 2: To observed the World Breast Feeding Week & to promote duggar culture, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment , Government of India, Social Welfare Deptt, J&K Govt. and Sangam Tru Art Production Mounts One Week Campaign On Breast Feeding & Drug abuse and presented mega Cultural progame on the said theme at Govt. Hr Sec. School, Paloura Jammu in its 336th Tuesday Series Dogri Musical Play "MAA KA DOOD". A pledge was administered to more than 100 students and teachers on "NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN" by M.C.Kotwal, Secretary of BLSKs. A Certificate of honor by the Ministry of Social Justice was gives to the Headmaster of the Host School by Mukesh Singh, Media Person- The Shadow Newspaper. The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Smt. Ranjana Gupta, Principal, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Paloura Jammu. Among the Guest of Honors present were Anjeet Thakur & Rajesh Kumar, Senior teacher of the host school. The day commemorated with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian special item prepared, "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio", " Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho", "Nai Pee Shraban", "Bari Kharab Chutki", "Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma", Nukkad, Skits ,Songs and Dances were nation in general awareness items were presented. The Chief Guest, said Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan intends to reach out to the masses and spread awareness about substance abuse through various activities like: Awareness generation programmes , Focus on higher educational Institutions, university campuses and schools, Reaching out to the Community and identifying dependent population, Focus on counseling and treatment facilities in hospitals and rehabilitation centres that have been geo-tagged, Capacity building programmes for service providers. Breastfed babies have fewer infections and hospitalizations than formula-fed infants. During breastfeeding, antibodies and other germ-fighting factors pass from a mother to her baby and strengthen the immune system. This helps lower a baby's chances of getting many infections, including: ear infections. The efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective was lauded. The artists of BLSks presented theme based songs which were written by Dr. M.L. Dogra & the music was the assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, Blsks. The program was also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples.
Welcome speech was given by Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan said World Breastfeeding Week theme for 2022 is "Step Up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support". The theme is aimed at encouraging breastfeeding as it is a very important thing and plays a very important role in the early development of a baby. World Breastfeeding Week is observed to emphasise the importance of regular breastfeeding for babies. Every year, the day starts on August 1 and concludes on August 7. According to the World Health Organisation, infants who are breastfed are more intellectual and fit. Breast milk contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria. Breastfeeding lowers your baby's risk of having asthma or allergies. Plus, babies who are breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months, without any formula, have fewer ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and bouts of diarrhea. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is an efficacious attempt to fight against substance abuse and raise awareness for healthy lifestyles. BLSKS always try to come up with relatable content on the harmful impact of drugs on society.
M.C.Kotwal, Gen Secty. BLSKS, said Breast milk helps your baby fight off sickness and disease. This protection is even more important if your baby is born early (premature). Breastfeeding helps reduce the chance your baby will: have diarrhea, ear infections or lung infections. die of sudden infant death syndrome and also our volunteers and outreach workers of these organizations have gone from door to door, and nearby localities of Jammu city to educate the people about the ill effects of drug abuse and have assisted the rehabilitation of victims of substance abuse. Drugs not only ruin the life of the individual but are damaging for the family and society. Drug addiction has become a cause of concern for society and the country as well. The objective of the schemes made by the Ministry is to bring down the consumption of drugs and rehabilitate the addicts and we are going ahead with it with full determination, The singers, musician and actors who performed were Usha Raina, Zulekha farid, Rajni Gupta, Sunil Kumar Dalotra, Sanjeev Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Chahat Chadha, Sudesh Devi, Vandana Gupta, Sant dass, Rajeev Salotra, Deepak Kumar. K.K. Joshi, Vice chairman, BLSKs presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program.
