Mayor, others kick start development works at Parade Ground

JAMMU, Aug 26: Continuing his Endeavour to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu alongwith Anil Kumar masoom councilor of ward No.10 in presence of Youdhvir Sethi Senior BJP leader, Vinay Gupta District president bjp today kick started the remaining development works in the Parade ground.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that under "MY TOWN MY PRIDE" an amount of Rs. one crore has been sanctioned by the Govt. to develop the parade ground by providing all types of latest facilities for the players as well as visitors.
He further told that the development work which was stated last year was not completed by the contractor who was got allotment for the same even after issuing repeated notices and the sports persons were facing great hardships & inconvenience due to non execution of this much needed development works in the parade ground.
After sincere efforts of the concerned councilor as well as works division of JMC , that contractor was blacklisted and new tender for the remaining work amounting to Rs 54.00 lacs was floated so that the sports persons can be benefitted and the works of which has been started today.
He also directed the concerned works division as well contractor to complete the work by way of construction/ renovation of sheds, lying of kota stones/tiles at specified spots, construction of pitch in the centre of the ground for playing cricket, commissioning of well furnished side screens & other allied works by applying best quality & durable construction material.
Neeraj verma, Assistant Executive engineer along with other field staff of works division- I, concerned contractor, supervisory staff of health section as well as prominent citizens of Parade, Moti bazaar, pacca Danga, Moh. Paharaian etc were also remained present there during the function.
