APS Kaluchak emerges triumphant in CLUSTER-I Hockey Tournament

Jammu, Aug 26: In order to harness the talent of budding players & to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship amongst them, Army Public School Kaluchak kickstarted the Inter APS Cluster-I Hockey Tournament for the session 2022-23 with great vim and vigor. The tournament commenced on 22 August and was played in the format of league cum knock out matches between 8 phenomenal teams from Jammu, Cluster-I.
APS Damana and APS Kaluchak were the top 2 teams from Pool A and B which competed against each other in the final match of the tournament. In a cracking face off, APS Kaluchak emerged victorious over APS Damana and maintained the lead by 6-2. Their unfettered, undaunted and indomitable spirit filled everyone with oodles of power, vivacity and left the spectators spellbound by their agility, maneuvering skills and passion for the game.
The Chief Guest for this occasion was Brig N R Pandey, VSM, Chairman, APS Kaluchak- a distinguished visionary and a fountainhead of illuminating ideas. The ceremony was also replete with esteemed dignitaries including Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, Rajeev Sharma, President, Hockey Federation, J&K, Dr. Taran Singh, Secretary, General Hockey, J&K, Satpal Singh, Manager KK Hakku stadium and Anil Gupta, International Yoga Coach. The event culminated with a Prize distribution ceremony wherein trophies and medals were awarded to the runner up and winning team for their flawless performance and sheer dexterity on the pitch.
Hem Lata Vishen, Principal, APS Kaluchak, lauded the efforts of all players and their mentors for backing up their teams despite all odds. Serebjeet Kour presented a Vote of thanks and the ceremony was brought to a close by rising for the national anthem.
