Justice GD Sharma’s interim report biased, allege J&K Gujjars, Bakerwals
10/28/2022 11:03:59 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: The Jammu & Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwals Organisations Coordination Committee on Friday expressed deep anguish over the interim report issued by Commission headed by Justice GD Sharma.
Addressing a news conference here the committee members said, “The report is absolutely a trash as the same is outcome of a bias attitude of the members of the Commission.”
They alleged that as per the media reports it appears that same is outcome of great bias against the weaker & deprived sections of people.
“For the last two years the world has been under Covid-19 pandemic, the so-called other Backward Commission framed an imaginary interim report which is not based on true facts and ground situations,” they alleged.
“The biasness of the two members of so-called Commission against the people of weaker sections, particularly against the Gujjar-Bakerwal Community is well known to the people. During their services in their respective departments they expressed their views umpteen times against the deprived sections of people,” they added.
Committee members, Bashir Ahmed Noon, Aslam Khan and Mushtaq Ahmed alleged that the biased Commission has intentionally and deliberately tried to divide the people on religious, communal and societal lines. “Commission’s Interim Report is being concealed from the society for certain nefarious designs and in principle it should have been made public for its scrutiny.”
“A community from which a member belongs to has also been categorize as proposed Scheduled Tribe and the very principle of Justice has been violated as nobody can be judge of his own cause,” they added.
They urged the Central Government that the so-called interim report of the Commission be rejected which has already started brewing a great resentment amongst different communities in Jammu and Kashmir and the people belonging to OBC, Gujjar-Bakerwal, Gaddi-Sippis and Ladakhis have already come on the roads protesting against such a biased interim report of the Commission.
They said that All Jammu & Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwals Organisations Coordination Committee representatives from all over the country are getting together in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar on 1st of November 2022 to protest against the above biased interim report and any intention to include so-called Pahari speaking people in Scheduled Tribe Category.
Those who were present in the press conference include Bashir Ahmed Noon, Mushtaq Choudhary Khatana, Ch. Rehmat Ali Chairman BDC Nagrota, Sardar Khan President International Gujjar Mahasabha J&K, Shoukat Gujjar President All J&K Gujjar-Bakerwal Federation, Jameel Choudhary President Dodhi Gujjars Associations, Ch. Mohd Aslam President Gujjar Islahi Committee, Ishtiaq Bhatti Chief Co-Ordinator Peer Panjal Development Forum, Din Mohd Chechi President Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar-Bakerwal Joint Forum, Liaqat Ali Sarpanch, R.S.Pura, Advocate Jameel Choudhary and many sarpanches and panches including prominent persons of the community were also present.
