City of Temples denounces AAP: ‘They are chameleons not worth Aastha of Jammu’

Srinagar, Oct 28: Even as the Aam Aadmi Party is stuck amid allegations of numerous scams and other serious complaints, the people of the City of Temples here have denounced the AAP for its recent controversies linked to Hindu religion saying that the party of “chameleons is not worth the Aastha of Jammu.”
Whereas, the AAP government in the national capital had banned the bursting of crackers on the festival of Diwali this year, a few weeks prior to it, the party leadership faced criticism for attending a religious conversion event in same Delhi, where the sentiments of Hindu religion were allegedly hurt and police filed a complaint.
Facing public criticism over alleged misbehavior of AAP towards the Hindu religion, the party chief and New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal played his “damage control card” of seeking pictures of the goddesses on the currency notes.
But instead of benefitting the party, the move has boomeranged even in poll-bound Gujarat. The people of Jammu on the other hand are saying that Kejriwal’s party has got exposed for its “duplicity and chameleonic charector.”
“We can never support a party which bans crackers on the day of Diwali and whose minister is seen attending a religious event where Hindu religion is targeted,” said a Jammu-based religious scholar.
Another person from Jammu said it was unfortunate that politicians were playing with the sentiments of a particular community. “I want to ask Kejriwal that why did he seek pictures of goddesses on the currency only ahead of Gujarat polls and only after his minister hurt our sentiments in Delhi,” asked a businessman here.
The people of Jammu largely believe that that AAP has got exposed even before ever coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Politicians largely get exposed only after coming to power but here in Jammu and Kashmir the AAP is exposed even before contesting the much awaited Assembly elections,” said a school teacher.
One AAP MLA recently resigned from the chair of minister in New Delhi after the police summoned him for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community on October 5. Afterwards the same government imposed ban on the bursting of crackers in same Delhi on the day of festival of lights.
Despite repeated attempts the AAP leaders were not available for comments.
