Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: In yet another setback for the Aam Aadmi Party, prominent musician and AAP supporter Vishal Dadlani, who had composed the signature tune “Lage Raho Kejriwal” for the Delhi Assembly elections, has come down heavily on the Arvind Kejriwal-led party's “poll stunt demand” to introduce the images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on currency notes.
While the common people have been saying that the AAP was resorting to “double speak” by first banning bursting of crackers of Diwali and then demanding images of goddesses on currency notes, Dadlani said: "The Constitution of India states that we are a Secular Socialist Republic. Hence, religion must have NO PLACE in governance. To be completely clear, I have nothing to do with anyone who brings any part of any religion to any aspect of government. Jai Hind."
While Dadlani didn’t mention AAP or Kejriwal in particular, it is quite clear that he was referring to AAP as the post came hours after Kejriwal's video address in which he sought adding Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh's images to notes.
Observes have been looking at Kejriwal’s demand for the change of pictures on the currency notes as the “damage control” following his government in the national capital banning crackers on Diwali, after a conversion row both in the ongoing month of October.
In a bid to allegedly gain votes, Kejriwal said: "On Indian currency there is a photo of Gandhi ji; let that be. On the other side, a photo of Shri Ganesh Ji and Lakshmi ji should be added.”
Kejriwal's alleged “poll stunt” comes ahead of elections in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and the Delhi civic polls.
The AAP has already come under the scanner of the Delhi police for allegedly hurting sentiments of Hindu community by “holding a religious conversion event” on October 5 wherein “provocative statements were given against the Hindu religion.”
While the AAP has been denying the allegations the party continues to face the heat.
