| Sg, gdc doongi celebrates National Education Day 2022 | | AZADI KA AMRUT MOHATSAV | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 12: NSS Unit of Shaheed Ghanisham Govt. Degree College Doongi with the collaboration of Education department and Shikshat Bharat Committee conducted a speech competition on 11-11-2022 to mark the National Education Day. A large number of students and staff of the college were present on the occasion. Dr. Mohd Maqbool Mir Head department of Education delivered a detailed lecture on the theme of the day. He unveiled the contribution of Dr. Moulana Azad in eductation sector of free India. Followed by it a speech competitrion was also conducted on the theme “Role of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad in Education Sector of India” wherein Miss Palvi Sharma student of BA I semester bagged first position. Mr. Khushal Kumar from BA III semester and Miss Anamika Sharma from BA I semester secured second and third position respectively. It is pertinent to mention that the National Education Day is an annual observance in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958. National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11 November every year. Whole programme was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Shamim ahmed Azad the principal of the college. Prof. Zaheer Abass Zia the Head Department of Economics and NSS PO along with Prof. Naresh Kumar convener Shikshat Bharat Committee coordinated the whole programme. Prof. Jarnail Singh Head Department of Sociology compared the programme and presented the vote of thanks also. |
