Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 12: A terror portal operating from Pakistan –involved in the assassination of a senior journalist, has become active again with its “terror motives against the people of Kashmir.”
Official sources told the Early Times that the police have credible inputs that the terror portal blocked in India, has posted some new objectionable content to malign image of some persons and institutions in Kashmir.
It was reliably learnt that the police are trying to ascertain the authenticity of the content and “if the same consolidates into prospective terror threat.”
“See the portal is blocked in our country so the veracity of the threat content is being ascertained by the concerned,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said name of Sheikh Sajad alias Sajjad Gul, who was declared terrorist by the Centre in June 22, has come under the scanner for having posted the content on the portal. As per the Union home ministry, Gul is absconding in a case pertaining to recovery of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir and has been actively radicalising, motivating and recruiting youngsters in the Union Territory to support the LeT. He has also been involved in terror funding.
Gul was found involved in hatching a criminal conspiracy, in connivance with other members of the LeT to eliminate a prominent journalist, along with two of his personal security officers. Considering his terror activities, the home ministry designated Gul as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967) in April 2022. Born on October 10, 1974, Gul hails from the Rose Avenue Colony HMT Shalteng in Srinagar, and is one of the commanders of the LeT. He was the 37th individual to have been declared as a designated terrorist by the Centre. Gul is believed to be hiding in Pakistan and is wanted in numerous cases back home. A senior official said the matter was being looked into.
