JAMMU, Dec 18: Stephens college of Nursing (under the aegis of Dr. Aparna Educational Trust) organized a workshop on "Organ Donation & Transplantation", It was organized by MSN (Medical Surgical Nursing) Department under the guidance of Professor Sarla Raina (HOD MSN) organizing Chairperson & Ms. Neha John (Assistant Professor) workshop Coordinator and Supervision of Mr. Manoj Kotru (Administrator) and Prof. Muni Dhar (Principal) and support of Professor kheema Peshin (Vice Principal) & Ritu Gupta (Associate Professor & Activity incharge) Dr. Sanjeev Puri (Joint Director SOTTO J&K) was the chief guest of the event & Dr Irfan Ahmed Lone (Transport Coordinator) was the special guest of the event.
Mr. Manoj Kotru highly appreciated the sincere effort of MSN Department & the concerned teachers with the students of a BSc(N) 3rd year, BSc(N) 2nd year, & Post Basic B.Sc(N) 1st year for their brilliant presentation & preparing marvellous & fabulous Modals. SCON is the first college in the J&K who organized workshop on such a sensitive topic "Organ Donation & Transplantation" Professor Muni Dhar (Principal SCON) extended hearty and warm welcome to the Esteemed chief Guest Dr. Sanjeev Puri (Joint Director SOTTO J&K ). She motivated & inspired everyone to donate organs. She told about the need & importance of organ donation.
The workshop commenced with the Lamp Lighting which was followed by the captivative Welcome Song. The introduction of the topic along with the objectives was presented by Miss khushboo Rani of M.Sc(N) 1st year, Saniya Sharma of BSc(N) 3rd year told about Heart Donation & Transplant which was followed by the 2nd topic- Kidney and eye Donation was presented by Mir Sabia & Sofi Rasiba of BSc(N) 2nd year. The main attraction of the workshop was Awareness Act. Further, Lung Donation & Transplantation was told by Pawandeep & Uzair of P.B.B.Sc(N) 1st year. The forte of Workshop was the captivative & slupendous Modals which were made by the multi talented & creative student of SCON.
The Chief Guest Dr. Sanjeev Puri highly applauded & appreciated the students & concerned Faculty Member for the wondrous & informative workshop especially the presentation & performance of the students. He inspired & motivated everyone to donate organs & save lives.
Then, The valedictory session was presented in which Chief Guest & special Guests were felicitated by Honable Pr Muni Dhar (Principal SCON). Then the concerned faculty members, the speakers & all the performers were felicitated the higher authorities. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Ritu Gupta (Associate professor and Activity Incharge).
The Workshop culminated with a very positive note and enrichment & enhancement of the knowledge of all attendees. It was a successful & a grand event. The workshop benefited all the attendees. The main motive of organizing this workshop was to acquaint everyone with the need and importance of Organ Donation.
