Bovines smuggling attempts foiled: Reasi police

REASI, Dec 18: Drive against bovines smuggling in district Reasi continues, teams of district Police Reasi under the Supervision of Amit Gupta-Sr Superintendent of Police Reasi laid special naka, seized 02 vehicles, rescued 08 bovines and arrested 05 smugglers while foiling an attempt to smuggle bovines.
Today on 18/12/2022 Police party of Police Station Pouni led by Insp Suman Singh Under the Supervision of Iftkhar Ahmed Dysp Hqtrs Reasi laid a special Naka in Pouni area, during checking police party intercepted one Swaraj Tractor and trolley loaded with straw (Parali) and one swift car bearing registration number PB04L 8888 both are comming from Reasi side.
Driver of the tractor trolley tried to run away by breaking the Naka in which Police officials on duty got injured , acting swiftly Police party apprehended the vehicle and during checking found 04 cows and 04 ox which were concealed under the straw (Parali) by making a cavity.
In this regard a case FIR No. 76/2022 U/S 307/147/323/188 IPC and 11(1)(a) PCA act stands registered at Police Station Pouni.
Both the vehicles got seized and accused smugglers got arrested in the case.

While sharing the details SSP Reasi Amit conveyed that Reasi Police established zero tolerance towards bovines smuggling and to dodge Police party smugglers devised new mechanism by concealing the bovines under straw, however timely action of Police rescued the bovines and smugglers got arrested. He further warned that those who were involved in this act have to face the music of the law.
