DC Kishtwar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp

KISHTWAR, Dec 18: In continuation to the public outreach program of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav on Saturday presided over a Grievance Redressal Camp at Panchayat Sranwan of block Thakraie.
The camp was organised and managed by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in collaboration with GHS Sranwan.
Among others, the camp was attended by DSWO Zubair Ahmed; Tehsildar Kishtwar Umar Muneeb; BDO Inderwal/Thakraie Tasleem Javaid Wani; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chander Prakash; CAHO, Dr Sanjay Kumar; ExEn PMGSY Kishtwar, Mohinder Singh; ExEn PDD, Altaf Hussain, Headmaster and staff of GHS Sranwan besides other District and sectoral officers and field functionaries of line departments. Scores of local people and from adjoining areas, led by representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions, put forth their issues and demands regarding basic amenities and different services.
The PRIs highlighted the grievances related to the water shortage at Sranwan and adjoining villages, sought maintenance of local road, replacement of wooden electrical poles, meeting shortage of staff in GHS Sranwan and HWC Sranwan, payment of pending compensation for land acquired for Shiv Nagar road and installation of Solar lights etc. They also demanded ration cards for separated households, link road from Sirgwari to SheikhPora, Govt Primary School for Ward Number 7 Sheikpora, up-gradation of GHS Srawan to GHSS, conduct of old age pension camps and awareness camps by Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Departments and Construction of Panchayat Ghar. Responding to the demands and grievances raised by people, the DC assured that all the issues shall be resolved in a time bound manner.
He also resolved many grievances on the spot with the intervention of the concerned officers of line departments. Responding to demand for sanction of old age pension in favour of left out eligible persons, the DC urged them to go for online registration.
While addressing the demand regarding new ration cards, he said that the government has notified the census 2011 as the basis for inclusion of households in the new ration card and until new guidelines are issued the same shall be followed. Deputy Commissioner also informed that Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India and that Water Supply Scheme for Sranwan has also been tendered out and soon the work shall be started to ensure water connectivity for village. The DC appreciated the people for their active participation in the Grievance Redressal camps, which he called a viable and much needed requirement for progress of the area.
