SCERT organises exhibition, project competition under INSPIRE

JAMMU, Jan 3: State Council of Educational Research and Training, Jammu and Kashmir Divisional office Jammu today organised a State Level Exhibition And Project Competition (SLEPC) in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar here under INSPIRE Award-MANAK Scheme- 2021-2023 of Department of Science and Technology Government of India Jammu.
The event was held under the overall guidance and supervision of Joint Director JKSCERT, Jammu, H.R Pakhroo.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma and Director Finance, School Education Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu (J&K), Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan. The exhibition was declared open with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Other dignitaries from the School Education department including DIET Principals and CEOs were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravi Shankar motivated the students to think out of the box and create wonders. He also asked the teacher and others concerned to motivate the students to take part in the events being organised by the government for exploring the new ideas of students so that they compete at national level and bring laurels for their institutions as well as Jammu and Kashmir.
Director Finance, School Education Department, Ifthikhar Hussainm who is also the UT level Nodal officer of the INSPIRE Award MANAK Scheme (J&K), applauded the participants for their innovative ideas and stressed the need for encouraging participation of maximum number of students in such kinds of activities .
Earlier, Joint Director JKSCERT, Jammu, in his welcome address, motivated the participants to think critically like the eminent scientists and develop higher order thinking skills. He also presented momentos to the dignitaries as a token of honour.
The dignitaries also inspected the exhibition of 42 innovative science models prepared by students of both government and private schools of Jammu province.
An independent jury comprising Dr Sanjeev Arya, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University of Jammu, Dr. Balgar Singh, Puneet Thukral, Rohit Sharma, Sr. Academic officers JKSCERT, Jammu, Parvaiz Ahmed Mir, Shabir Ahmad Kutay and Irteza Fayaz from NIF, DST, New Delhi selected best exhibits in a very intellectual and professional way of selection for National Level Exhibition and Project Competition to be held at New Delhi.
The prizes were distributed among the students by the Joint Director JKSCERT, Jammu HR Pakhroo in the presence of august gathering.
