Posters threatening outsiders recovered, accused arrested in Baramulla: Police | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday said it recovered threat posters and also arrested an accused in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. Police said Altaf Ahmad Rather of Tantraypora Palhallan has revealed that he got in touch with Pakistan based terror handlers on social media who instructed him to paste posters in order to create an atmosphere of fear among the public and hatred against India. Police Post Palhallan on December 22, learnt through reliable source that a threat has been issued to outsiders and condemning the government's decision of opening a wine shop in the tourist resort of Pahalgam. "The threat poster was issued by a so called terror group ?Lone Wolf Warrior? at Tantraypora Palhallan in Baramulla," police said. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation set in motion. Acting upon this Police party rushed towards the spot and found poster pasted and some posters on the roadside. During the course of investigation several suspects were rounded up, a police statement said. Investigating team after hectic efforts zeroed on suspect Altaf Ahmad Rather and upon his questioning/ interrogation he confessed and evidences so collected has confirmed his involvement in the commission of offences. He further revealed that he got in touch with Pak based terror handlers on social media and was working with them who instructed him to paste posters in order to create an atmosphere of fear among the public and hatred against India, police said. Police said on his disclosure, raid was conducted at his house where posters and mobile phone was seized and the accused was taken into custody. Further investigation of the case is going on, the police statement added. |
