Theft case solved, thief arrested; stolen property recovered

REASI, Feb 15: A written complaint received from a pilgrim namely Shubam Verma S/O Santosh Verma R/O Khoda Colony Ghaziabad at P/S Bhawan that he reached Bhawan for performing darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi, suddenly some unknown person stole his bag containing one mobile phone Oppo A-51, cash 2000/-, clothes and other items from Bathing Ghat Bhawan.
On this a case FIR No. 04/2023 U/S 379 IPC stand registered at P/S Bhawan. During the course of investigation, I/O of the case along with officials of P/S Bhawan visited at the place of occurrence and there after searched the accused person around Bhawan area/track.
With the help of physical and technical assistance, Police team of P/S Bhawan arrested the accused person namely Lalit S/O Subash Chander R/o Gali No. 3 Pritam Nagar, Ludhiana and also recovered the stolen mobile phone and cash in the instant case within few hours of the registration of FIR.
During further interrogation of the accused, 8 other phones along with watches, Power Banks, Ear Phones and other items costing approx. Rs. 100000/- were recovered. Recovery and arrest was made by SHO Bhawan khyatiman Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Bhawan Bhisham Dubey and under overall supervision of SSP Katra Amit Basin.
Amit Gupta SSP Reasi while sharing the information of recovery expressed that Reasi Police is committed to protect property of citizens & further appealed to the shopkeepers of Reasi District to make use of technology & install CCTV cameras in their premises for surveillance on these criminal elements in the society.
